2003-01-02

Well, the drought has been broken, presagging a good frame of events for 2003!

Finally, yours truly has managed some nookie with the man, and it was great - I didn't know whether to cry or laugh afterwards. Perhaps the Rock dream was prophetic after all, and that what is broken in dreams can be mended in real time. And possibly vice versa. So now I am like a large contented cat, happy and safe in the knowledge that my punani will not dry up and blow away as once suspected.

New Years was v relaxed, except for the part where I drank six martinis and span around in my driveway laughing at the stars until I fell over in a disheveled heap. Completed the James Bond marathon at about 6am and decided that sleep was probably the most prudent option. Wednesday was spent mooning about the house, making cappucino with the new coffee machine and dispensing sage words of wisdom to the Crusty one who appeared on my doorstep late afternoon with a bagful of issues that needed clearing. I was happy to help.

They say ("they" being that entity that knows all, sees all) that the way you spend the first day of the new year is a glimpse into how you will spend the year. If that is so then I am going to be spending a lot of time in 2003 enjoying myself, being with friends, and pottering about in a bit of a nostalgia trip. Not such a bad way to spend a year. My stars are quite full-on, with lots of personal challenges and periods of introspection and loss as well as growth, which is guess is true for most years and most people, but the specifics do seem to apply to me.

Not looking forward to going back to the old job a roonie if only because I know that as soon as I go back the pressure will be on and I'd much rather not be a performing seal anymore. It doesnt seem to matter how good a job appears on paper, there is always something that makes you wish you spent your life doing something else, somehwere else. Ah well.

A big boozy cheers to all, and here's to being shaken, not stirred in 2003.
