2004-01-13 Ok so perhaps I was a bit heavy handed with the last one, but my brain was truly functioning on a special level that day... The husband's younger brother is in town at the moment and he's a breath of fresh air indeed. We always have lots of laughs when Rossy is around, and it's great cause he takes the Husband out and about and makes him smile (for a freakin change). Last night they went on an E finding mission which was pretty unsuccessful but still didnt stop them from being street punks and getting out there - when I left for work at 10am they still weren't home. That's way cool cause it means they'll sleep all day and I can just cruise around and do my own thing. Sigh. I wish Rossy would come down more often. The reason for Rossy's visit is to drop off the Volvo that the Husband's parents have given us ostensibly to mind for them, as they have five vehicles and their yard is kind of full. It is your traditonal 80's Volvo - icy blue, those yellow seats with the racked headrests, boxy but safe. And Canberra plates. And its a given that with that combination I am going to get laughed off the roads in Victoria, so I have decided to add to the fear and loathing that the car will provide and have bought a hat to wear only when I drive. I have become my own worst driving nightmare!!! Hurray! The Volksie is not going to be retired just yet, and in fact I plan to have her rust removed, panels replaced and re-spray her a racy red... this will be post-Spain I guess, unless I win Lotto (which apparently you have to buy a ticket to go in, go figure, I thought you just had to believe in it). I really did buy Delilah (the Volksie) just for her looks, but she has proven to be a terrific little car and I have to admit to being very sentimentally attached which is a first for me and a piece of machinery. Enough automotive talk, its time to go and actually do some hard yakka and start selling those fabrics to the bitches. Perhaps the shop manager will let me put on the overhead speaker my "Speak Spanish good in three months, mate" tape so i can start learning the lingo? Adios
